Executive Board - Charles E. Jett

Charles E. Jett Charles E. Jett is now serving in his third term as Sheriff of Stafford County, having been elected to his first term in 2000. He commands a department of over 160 sworn members that provide the primary law enforcement for Stafford County.

True to the values and mission of the Stafford Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Jett is dedicated to integrity, compassion, fairness and professionalism. In 1999, the Stafford Sheriff’s Office was accredited through the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission, becoming the eleventh agency in the Commonwealth to do so. Sheriff Jett has served as the Board Vice-Chairman and Chairman.

Sheriff Jett believes, because of the very nature of law enforcement work, that it is incumbent upon the law enforcement community to set, and adhere to, higher standards than what is required of them. The VLEPSC provides the opportunity for agencies to do this through accreditation. Accredited agencies afford the citizens of the Commonwealth with law enforcement agencies second to none.
