Coors Brewing Co. (www.coors.com/part_community_funding.asp) Partners with leading non-profit groups focusing on enhancing the quality of life. Cash grants.
Anheuser Busch (www.anheuser-busch.com) click citizenship, click corporate giving, click giving guidelines. Look under corporate giving. Focus areas: Education, Healthcare & Human Serviced, Minority Development & Youth, Cultural Enrichment. No deadline for submitting proposals.
CarMax (www.carmaxcares.com/foundation.html) Refer to Richmond Funding Program. Focus on educational opportunities for children & families or youth leadership. No deadlines. Funding decisions are made on a quarterly basis.
Freddie Mac Foundation (www.freddiemacfoundation.org/grants/guidelines.html) Click on Foundation Focus. Focus areas: Strengthening Families, Youth Development, Foster Care & Adoption. This grant is only for the counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun & Prince William and the cities of Alexandria, Falls Church, Manassas Park, and Leesburg.
2006 submission date September 06,2006.
Gannett Foundation (www.gannettfoundation.org/dcarea.htm) Specific to Alexandria, Falls Church, and counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William and Loudoun. Focus areas: At-Risk Youth, Services for Special Populations (i.e. homeless children, families in crisis) Average grant amount is in the $5,000 to $10,000 range. 2006 deadlines were January 15, May 15, or August 15.
SAMHSA (www.samhsa.gov) cliick grants, click SAMHAS planned funding opportunities for FY 2007. Overview of FY Grant Opportunities. Examples: Jail Diversion-$280,000 each grant awarded, Fall/Winter; Adolescents at Risk-$$300,000 each grant awarded, Fall/Winter; Conference Grants- $50,000 each grant award, Fall/Winter; Treatment of Persons with Co-Occurring Substance Related & Mental Health Disorders-$1 million each grant award, Fall/Winter.

The Kroger Co. (www.thekrogerco.com/corpnews/corpnewsinfo_charitablegiving_foundation.htm) Roanoke area only. Start up grants and funding for special projects. No specific application. Applications may be submitted at any time through the community relations department of the local retain division office. Mid-Atlantic Marketing Area, 363` Peters Creek Rd, Roanoke, 540-563-3500.

Focus on encouraging youth to develop moral character, achieve academic excellence, learn conflict resolution and embrace cultural diversity. Submit a letter of inquiry no more that 2 pages in length. Applications received year-round.
The Braitmayer Foundation (www.braitmayerfoundation.org/guid.htm) Interested in K-12 education, particularly curricular and school reform initiatives. Grants of $10,000 and $35,000. Can be used as seed money or as a match. Applications due June 1st and Nov. 15th.
The Dreyer’s Foundation (www.dreyersinc.com/dreyersfoundation) Small grants of $3,000 or less) Proposals reviewed monthly.
The Ford Foundation (www.fordfound.org/about/guideline.cfm) Focuses on Asset Building & Community Development, Peace & Social Justice. Applications are considered through the year.
Bank of America (www.bankofamerica.com/foundation) Focus on after-school programs, youth mentoring, child/family support services.
The American Legion Child Welfare Foundation (www.cwf-inc.org) Prevention purpose area is to contribute to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual welfare of children by dissemination of knowledge about new & innovative organizations or programs designed to benefit youth. Request applications only from April 1 – 15.
Bruner Foundation (www.brunerfoundation.org) Funding goes to urban areas making social, economic and contextual contributions to their communities. Applications available summer 2007.
