This three day course will provide the attendee with a basic understanding of domestic extremism and hate groups, Arabic/Muslim culture and the inner workings of Middle Eastern Terrorist Organizations and the possible connection to our communities. Furthermore, this course will provide attendees with the necessary tools to deal with today’s ever-changing threats as they encroach on the homeland and the Commonwealth.
This training is being offered to sworn Virginia law enforcement officers, campus police and campus security officers. Agency identification will be required.
Topics Include:
· Animal Liberation Front (ALF) and Earth Liberation Front (ELF)
· Black Hebrew Israelites (BHI)/Black Separatists (New Black Panther Party)
· Anarchists , Militia Groups/Sovereign Ideology
· White Supremacists/Racist Skinheads
· Overview of Arabic/Islamic Culture and Middle Eastern Terrorist Organizations
· Investigative, Interview and Interrogation techniques related to terrorism activities
· Law Enforcement interaction with subjects from the Middle East
· Recruitment and selection
Law enforcement officers will receive approximately 21 PIC hours. Please note: PIC hours are an estimate and may change due to unforeseen circumstances.
There is no fee to attend this training.
Transportation, lodging and meals are the responsibility of the participant.
Sign in begins at 7:30 a.m.
Training begins at 8:00 a.m. and concludes at 5:00 p.m.
