Course Description:
Alarms 101, is an in-depth dive into how alarm systems work. From design, installation, vulnerabilities, and new technology, this course will cover it all. Many advancements have made systems simpler to install and easier to use. This class will highlight those advancements and help you to be more in tune with where the industry is headed. There will be actual product available to handle and several video demonstrations of the new technology.
This class will be instructed by Corey Boggs, General Manager at Richmond Alarm Company and President of the Electronic Security and Technology Association, a trade organization focused on sharing best practices and mentoring security companies.

We recommend that those taking this class may also benefit from attending the Understanding Mechanical Locks for Crime Prevention Practitioners and Understanding Electronic Access Controls for Crime Prevention Practitioners classes being held at the same location July 24 and July 25th respectively. Separate registrations are required.
Equipment: Pen and paper required. Laptop computer recommended.
Partial In-service Credit:
Partial Law Enforcement in-service credit hours and Crime Prevention Specialists credit hours will be awarded upon completion of this course.
Tuition and Cost: There is no fee associated with this course.
Participants are responsible for their own travel, lodging and meals.
