Application Type: Security Rifle Instructor Entry-Level Training Enrollment form (PSS_SI)
Course Description: Entry-Level training provided by DCJS which, if already certified as a firearms instructor, makes an individual eligible to apply for certification as a Private Security Services Security Rifle Instructor.
This is a twenty-four (24) hour training session conducted over the course of three (3) days. It is designed to prepare DCJS firearms instructors to teach the new Security Rifle program. The Security Rifle course is not a SWAT-style training program, nor does it cover sniper or designated marksman subjects. Instead, the Security Rifle certification program is designed to teach effective rifle/carbine use by those security officers who are armed, or may require access to this type of firearm in the conduct of their day-to-day duties, or in emergency situations.
