The threat of violence in private schools and daycares, as well as public institutions is real. More and more our historically safe institutions, such as schools, are realizing the potential for violent attack and must prepare and plan for such incidents. The Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Criminal Justice Services, Law Enforcement Services Section, which addresses school safety, crime prevention and other such programming have developed this training to assist such private institutions in understanding the need for plans to address critical incidents and security. This training prepares participants, through classroom instruction, to begin to create all types of security and crisis response plans relevant to them.
