Grant Writing and Management Basics

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services is pleased to announce a one day training course on Grant Writing and Management Basics for Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (focusing on Law Enforcement programs). This training will provide a comprehensive outline of the grant application process, techniques of successful grant writing, and post-award grant funds management.

Course Objectives- Participants will be able to:

  • Identify key Elements of a Grant
  • Develop Project Narratives
  • Understand Grant Guidelines
  • Identify Byrne JAG funding purpose areas
  • Draft Performance Measures
  • Develop corresponding Itemized Budget and Budget Narrative

Eligible Participants:

Sworn and Civilian grant writers, Grant Managers, Grant Administrators, Grant Project Directors, and Grant Finance personnel.
