Beginning in 1993, the Bureau of Justice Assitance (BJA) provided grants to states to increase the use of closed-circuit and recorded testimony of children. State programs have focused on the purchase of equipment, development of protocols, and the provision of training to system professionals in the use of these technologies. The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) and the BJA, in collaboration with the American Bar Association (ABA), are sponsoring this conference to provide participants the opportunity to share information on model programs and learn about the associated technology.
This training is designed for criminal justice professionals who work with child witnesses. Registration is open to: judges, prosecuters, guardians ad litem, law enforcement professionals, victim/witness advocates, child protective service workers, mental health professionals, and other state and local policymakers and practitioners.
This conference will be held August 23-24, 2007.
This conference will be held at the Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington, Virginia:
