General Information

The meeting and training will be held at the Smithfield Center, located at 220 Church Street in Smithfield.

The business meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. Assessor Training will be conducted following the business meeting. The instructors will be Mr. Gary Dillon (DCJS), Chief (Retired) Dave Daigneault (James City County Police Department), and Lieutenant Colonel Joe McLaughlin (New Kent County Sheriff’s Office). Lunch will be provided by VALEAC at no cost to attendees. Feel free to arrive around 9:00 for networking and fellowship!

Please be sure to register via the DCJS website in you are planning to attend, so we can plan for lunch and training accordingly. Please register by October 16th so we can plan for training materials and lunch.

As a reminder, we will be voting on By Laws changes during the business meeting. Proposed changes are listed on the website. If a representative form your agency is unable to attend the meeting, please be sure to send a proxy for your agency’s vote on these important changes. A proxy must be noted on agency letterhead and sent to one of the following Board Members before October 22nd: Becca Edwards at redwards@spotsylvania.va.us; Dave Daigneault at dadano@james-city.va.us; Bobby Mawyer at Bobby.Mawyer@dgif.virginia.gov; James Cox at jcox@galaxpd.com; or Cindy Caldwell at CRCaldwell@co.campbell.va.us. You may also mail a proxy to one of the Board members instead of e-mailing. Please check the membership directory for mailing address information. Only one vote per agency may be cast. Only agencies that paid the required membership dues for 2009 are eligible to vote. If you have a question on whether your agency’s dues have been paid, please contact Treasurer Bobby Mawyer at the aforementioned e-mail address.
