Eyewitness Identification Training: Lineup Best Practices for Law Enforcement Officers
Description
The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services is pleased to announce a series of five training sessions that focus on current best practices in the field of eyewitness identification and photographic and live lineup procedures. This series of training sessions is designed to assist law enforcement officers in their understanding and response to these issues.
These sessions are intended for law enforcement officers and others impacted by this issue. Utilizing various training tools such as hands-on activities, video and discussions, these interactive sessions will provide an in depth look at the topics and current best practices.
Scheduled topics will include:
- Legal and Policy Foundations
- The Case for Using Best Practices
- Designing the Lineup
- Conducting the Identification and Recording the Results
