2nd Annual CIT Conference
2nd Annual CIT Conference
CIT: Beyond Training
The Virginia CIT Coalition is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual CIT Conference. Join us in Charlottesville, Virginia on Monday, October 22nd and Tuesday October 23rd for CIT: Beyond Training. The Conference will be held at the Omni Charlottesville Hotel at 235 West Main Street, Charlottesville, VA, 22902
National speakers include Clarke Paris, presenting, “The Pain Behind the Badge”; Coordinator of the Ohio Recovery Project, Dr. Fred Frese; and Major Sam Cochran, the ‘godfather’ of CIT. Statistics show Officers and members of the armed services frequently care for the welfare of others more than themselves. This often shocking emotional toll is the centerpiece of the Second Annual Virginia CIT Conference in introducing and exploring ways of keeping ourselves emotionally sound in spite of the tribulations of our daily duties. Additional workshops on special mental health topics, developing CIT programs in Virginia, advocacy and consumer issues and more!
Please join us in October in Charlottesville for an opportunity to expand our skills with topics that can be taken back to your CIT program to benefit all.
Registration is $25. This fee covers the cost of hotel stay for Sunday October, 22nd (if necessary for travel) and Monday, October 23rd (for all participants). Lodging requests can be made within the online registration system. Meals will be provided or reimbursed for both days of the conference, as allowed by Virginia travel guidelines. Attendees will be responsible for any other costs (e.g., mileage) associated with attending this event.
The deadline to register for this event is Monday, October 1st.
