The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services is pleased to announce the 2009 Virginia School and Campus Safety Training Forum.

The 2009 Virginia School and Campus Safety Training Forum will provide all attendees with two days of plenary and breakout sessions covering a comprehensive range of school and campus safety and prevention-related topics on Monday, July 27 & Tuesday, July 28, 2009. In addition to the Main Conference package, this year’s forum will also offer specialized training opportunities as follows:

Three-day conference package (Monday, July 27 – Wednesday, July 29) -- Two-day Main Conference + one of the following Wednesday sessions:

  • DARE Update
  • Teen Dating Violence Prevention Showcase
  • Primary Violence Prevention
  • Alcohol Enforcement Specialist Training (LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS ONLY)
  • School Resource Officer Basic Training
Four-day conference package (Monday, July 27 – Thursday, July 30) -- Two-day Main Conference + one of the following:
  • School Security Officer Certification Training
  • College Campus Security Officer Certification Training
[Please note: the four-day course offerings listed above are intended for those school/college campus security officers requiring entry-level certification training.]

We are anticipating more than 600 school and campus safety practitioners in attendance at this annual event. Partnering with the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services to bring you this collective training opportunity are the following: Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, Virginia Department of Education, Virginia Department of State Police, Office of the Attorney General, Virginia Department of Health, and the Virginia Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators.

The conference sessions (7/27 & 28) and extended trainings (7/27-30) will be held July 27-30, 2009 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center located at 1610 Coliseum Drive in Hampton, Virginia. A variety of lodging accommodations are available within walking distance of the conference facility. Please see below for a listing of hotels in the area with special 2009 Forum rate arrangements. Lunch will be provided to participants on each of the four days.

Conference Registration Deadline: July 10, 2009, 5:00 p.m.

The registration fee is required and non-refundable unless registration is canceled prior to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2009. This fee applies to all registered participants who fail to cancel by the deadline, even if they are unable to attend.

Cash payments will NOT be accepted at the conference.
Vendor Registration Fee:
Non profit organizations $250.00
For profit organizations $500.00
All vendor registrations include 1 conference registration and 1 table. Additional tables are $125.00 each. Additional personnel must register as a conference participant.
Confirmation: Please verify that all data entered at registration is correct and that the registration process is complete. You will receive an "Order Confirmation" page when your registration has been accepted. This will also be e-mailed to you if you enter a valid e-mail address.
