The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), in partnership with the Department of State Police, the Department of Corrections, the Department of Juvenile Justice and the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia, is pleased to announce the 2021 Conference on Violent Crime. This two-and-a-half-day event will be held in person in Roanoke, Virginia, on June 7-9, 2021. The event will be simultaneously offered in a two-day virtual format on June 7-8, 2021, for those that are unable to travel or if restrictions require cancellation of the in-person event.
The conference will focus on topics directly related to trends and strategies used in efforts to reduce violent crime in the Commonwealth. The conference will feature keynote presentations from both national and international speakers on Homegrown Violent Extremist (HVE) and Domestic Terrorism, and Gangs in the Virginia Department of Corrections.
This conference is intended for Virginia law enforcement officers, military, prosecutors and other criminal justice professionals who are interested in this specialized information about trends and solutions related to violent crime reduction. The conference has developed into a great educational and networking tool for law enforcement and criminal justice professionals in the Commonwealth.
Law enforcement officers and school/campus security officers can receive PIC hours for the training. Final hours will depend on individual daily and session attendance.
Lunch will be served to registered in person participants each of the first 2 days of the conference. Participants are responsible for their transportation, parking and other meal costs.
Unless a lodging scholarship is requested and approved, participants are responsible for their lodging arrangements and expenses.

Registration fee is $50.00 per participant if paid via credit card at the time of registration. A $20 processing fee will apply to payments not made by credit card at the time of registration. Payment must be received prior to conference attendance.
