The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), in partnership with the Department of State Police, the Department of Corrections, the Department of Juvenile Justice and the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia, is pleased to announce the 2022 Conference on Violent Crime. This two and a half day event will be held in Roanoke, Virginia, March 21-23, 2022. The conference will focus on topics directly related to trends and strategies used in efforts to reduce violent crime in the Commonwealth.
This years’ conference will feature keynote presentations from both local and national speakers on Homegrown Violent Extremist (HVE) and Domestic Terrorism, the Clinton Correctional Facility Escape, cold case investigations, and more.
This training is intended for Virginia law enforcement officers, campus and school security officers, military, prosecutors and other criminal justice professionals who are interested in this specialized information about trends and solutions related to violent crime reduction. The conference has developed into a great educational and networking tool for law enforcement and criminal justice professionals in the Commonwealth.
Law enforcement officers, campus security officers and school security officers can receive PIC hours for the conference training. Final hours will depend on individual daily and session attendance.
Lunch will be served to registered participants each of the first 2 days of the conference. Participants are responsible for their transportation, parking and other meal costs.
Unless a lodging scholarship is requested and approved, participants are responsible for their lodging arrangements and expenses.

Applications must be received by February 20, 2022 to be considered. Applicants will be notified of the decision within a week of DCJS’ receipt of the application. The registration fee for VENDORS is $250 per vendor (for up to two (2) representatives) if paid via credit card at the time of registration. A $20 processing fee will apply to payments not made by credit card at the time of registration. Registration fee includes open skirted table, electricity and Wi-Fi, and lunch.
