The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to announce “Struggle Well™ – First Responder Wellness” training presented by the Boulder Crest Foundation.
Struggle Well™ Trainings are peer-based training programs that rely on a variety of educational and experiential activities for the purposes of teaching life skills, increasing community integration and involvement, and promoting optimal physical, emotional, relational, financial, and spiritual health. Struggle Well™ does not use licensed healthcare professionals in the delivery of programs or supervision of staff. Struggle Well™ does not include individual, group, or family counseling, or psychotherapy, pharmacological management, or medical interventions.
Struggle Well™ is founded on the belief that our nation’s military members, veterans, and first responders possess rare strengths, skills, and attributes that are seldom seen and desperately needed in communities across the country.
Struggle Well™ Trainings are based around the proven framework of Posttraumatic Growth, which features five phases, built on an environment of trust and connection. The objective of Struggle Well™ training is to enable students to prepare, practice, and implement an individualized plan for personal growth by transforming struggle into strength, enabling them to be of continued service to themselves, their family, their department/agency/unit, community, and country.
*This training is intended for first responders in the Commonwealth of Virginia. There is no fee to attend the post-conference.
