This multidisciplinary conference is sponsored by DCJS, in partnership with the Commonwealth’s Attorneys’ Services Council, the Virginia Victim Assistance Network, and the Virginia Victims Fund. The three-day conference brings together law enforcement, prosecutors, victim advocates, child advocates, and other allied professionals to highlight promising practices and emerging issues to effectively respond to domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse in our communities.
The conference will include several internationally and nationally renowned presenters, including retired Texas Chief Justice Richard Barajas, David Adams, Kevin Mulcahy, and staff from the National Sexual Violence Resource Center.

Reservations must be must be made by phone or online by Wednesday, May 23, 2018. Reservations received after the cut-off date will be accepted on a space and rate availability basis.

Attendee Registration
A conference fee of $125.00 is required for this event and must be received by June 1, 2018. Payment by credit card is the preferred method of payment. Registration includes lunch each day of the conference for all conference attendees.

Scholarships
Limited scholarships are available to cover the costs of registration and lodging. You must apply by April 13, 2018 to be considered. If you apply for a scholarship, please register and choose “pay by check” but do not submit payment until we have chosen scholarship recipients. Make your lodging reservations as soon as possible to ensure that you have a room. If chosen as a scholarship recipient, your lodging will be changed to be directly billed to DCJS.
Scholarships will be given to law enforcement, child advocates, and child welfare workers who can demonstrate a need for financial assistance. To apply for a scholarship, please complete this scholarship form and email it to courtney.meyer@dcjs.virginia.gov along with a paragraph or two in your e-mail demonstrating your need for assistance. You will be notified whether you received a scholarship or not by April 30, 2018.
