Grant Program Information:DCJS Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Fund
Source of Funds:Internet Crimes Against Children Fund as set out in §17.1-275.12 of the Code of Virginia
Amount Available:DCJS anticipates that approximately $200,000 will be available to fund the FY 2013 grants for a competitive, one-time grant award not to exceed $25,000 for the 12 month period beginning July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013.
Purpose of Funds:The ICAC Fund is for local law-enforcement agencies’ use to enhance investigation and prosecution of internet crimes against children.
Eligibility Requirements:Law enforcement affiliate members, as of February 12, 2012, of either the SOVA ICAC or NOVA-DC ICAC Task Forces (Virginia jurisdictions only) may apply. An applicant police department or sheriff’s office must be an affiliate member in good standing and remain in good standing of either SOVA ICAC or NOVA-DC ICAC and have a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on file with the respective Task Force within the defined boundaries established by OJJDP. The affiliate member must comply with all provisions of the respective ICAC MOU and ICAC Investigative and Operational Guidelines.
