The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services is pleased to announce that registration is now open for “Trauma-Informed Services: From Capacity to Practice.” We encourage all child-serving professionals to attend. The training will provide participants with the knowledge to understand and build trauma-informed practices into existing child/youth serving programs. Child and youth advocates from domestic and sexual violence programs, CASA advocates and case managers, and certified law enforcement officers are invited to attend this training. Juvenile justice probation officers and school personnel including truancy officers, social workers, and school psychologists are also encouraged to attend.
Pre-registration is required. There is no fee to attend this workshop and all training materials will be provided for registrants. Registration will open each day of the training at 8:30 a.m. The opening session will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. and every effort will be made to end by 5:00p.m. Participants are responsible for their own transportation, meals, lodging arrangements and expenses.
