The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services, in partnership with the Washington/Baltimore High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) and the Northeast Counterdrug Training Center (NCTC), is pleased to announce Video Surveillance Techniques for Narcotics Investigations training October 15 – 17, 2019 at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, Downtown Campus, in Richmond, Virginia. This three (3) day course is designed on the premise that participants have little or no experience with video. Students will be exposed to state-of-the-art video surveillance systems and will be offered the opportunity to use them in realistic “hands-on” scenarios.
Participants will learn how to use video camcorders and the associated technology to supplement their work to record narcotic crime scenes, narcotics trafficking, drug smuggling, transportation and distribution, auto theft operations, murder-for-hire investigations, monitoring registered sex offenders, and other forms of criminal activity.
Participants are encouraged to bring some or all of the following equipment:
This training is open to all sworn law enforcement officers and military personnel.
Partial In-service Credit (PIC) for law enforcement officers will be available.
Registration begins at 7:30 AM
Training will be from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Transportation, lodging, and meals are the responsibility of the student.
There is no registration fee to attend this training.
