The purpose of this course is to prepare executive and senior leadership within institutions of higher education and the community for their roles to support the management of a crisis that utilizes the effective and efficient application and implementation of a whole community approach as described in the National Incident Management System (NIMS). The course has specific emphasis on the unique aspects of response to a crisis at institutions of higher education.
Scope
This course introduces campus and community executive leadership to a whole community approach to crisis management utilizing the methods across the areas of prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery.
Intended Audience
The intended audience for this course will include chiefs, security directors, emergency managers, college and university presidents, vice presidents, chancellors, and key senior administration and staff from within institutions of higher education. Additionally, senior stakeholders from communities that host, surround, or neighbor institutions of higher education are also encouraged to attend.
