The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to partner with Dr. John More, CEO of Response Law, LLC, to offer an opportunity to attend a one-day workshop titled “Addressing Legal Concerns and Issues in K-12 Threat Assessment”. Dr. More will provide a comprehensive look at creating and enhancing the threat management process including legal aspects and mitigation of potential challenges.
This training is being offered at no cost to K-12 school emergency managers, school division leaders, principals and assistant principals, school counselors, and law enforcement serving in schools as well as other members of school and division emergency threat assessment teams.
Law enforcement officers serving in schools who complete this workshop are eligible to receive partial in-service credit hours.
There is no fee to attend this workshop and all training materials will be provided for registrants.
Participants are responsible for their transportation, meals, and lodging arrangements and expenses.
Pre-registration is required. Please note that the DCJS registration system does not have the capacity to sort eligible from ineligible registrants. Therefore, anyone who registers will receive a confirmation. It is the responsibility of the DCJS assigned course director to review the roster and make a final determination on acceptance into the course. Registrants not accepted will be notified via the email address provided during registration.
