The Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) in partnership with Louisiana State University’s National Center for Biomedical Research and Training/Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) is pleased to announce this virtual “Fraudulent Documents – Law Enforcement Prevention and Deterrence of Terrorist Attacks” training presented by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
The purpose of this course is to provide participants with an overview of general security features employed by the US government to establish the validity of government documents, as well as known methods used to alter or counterfeit the types of documents commonly presented to law enforcement officers. Several government documents are discussed, including identity cards, driver’s licenses, and social security cards.
While this class is virtual, a live instructor will answer questions and encourage class participation.

This training is open to sworn law enforcement officers and campus security officers. You must have a FEMA SID Number to register.You can look up your FEMA SID, or register for a new one, at the following site: https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid
Law enforcement officers and campus security officers who complete this training are eligible to receive partial in-service credit hours.

Once your registration is complete, you will receive an email confirmation. This email will contain your FEMA SID and registration Confirmation Number. Make sure to have this information available to you in class! You will need this to complete the online post-test and class evaluation.
The online registration site is mobile friendly and can be used by any phone, tablet, or computer with internet access. At the end of training, a post-test and class evaluation will be conducted. Bring a device to class that can access the online registration site, so you may complete your post-test and evaluation online. Your post-test will be graded immediately, and you will be able to review the answers. As soon as the post-test is passed and the class evaluation is completed, your Class Information page will update to include a link for your certificate. The certificate may be downloaded as a PDF to your device, or sent as a PDF to your email.
