The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to partner with Dr. John More, CEO of Response Law, LLC, to offer an opportunity to attend a half-day workshop titled “Hot Topics: Vaping: Dangers, Searches, and Policy Enforcement.” These informative and engaging, scenario-based, 3-hour sessions provide school administrators, security, and school resource officers with effective techniques and messaging methods to proactively combat and manage what have become the “hot button” issues that directly affect student physical and mental health, some of which have reached epidemic proportions, and have had a profound impact on the education process and atmosphere. This training is being offered at no cost to K-12 school administrators, central office personnel, school security officers, and law enforcement serving in schools.
Law enforcement officers serving in schools and school security officers who complete this training are eligible to receive partial in-service credit hours.
There is no fee to attend this workshop and all training materials will be provided for registrants.
Travel, Lodging, and Meals
Participants are responsible for their transportation, meals, and lodging arrangements and expenses.
Pre-registration is required. Please note that the DCJS registration system does not have the capacity to sort eligible from ineligible registrants. Therefore, anyone who registers will receive a confirmation. It is the responsibility of the DCJS assigned course director to review the roster and make a final determination on acceptance into the course. Registrants not accepted will be notified via the email address provided during registration.
