The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services is pleased to offer five School Leader and School Resource Officer Forums throughout the Commonwealth. The goals of these forums are to provide K-12 school administrators, law enforcement, and other school personnel an opportunity to hear national presenters speak on a variety of topics related to restorative justice, trauma informed discipline practices, threat assessment legal considerations, school climate, and the school to prison pipeline. Scheduled topics will include:
Format:

Day 2: “Creating Trauma Informed Schools to Reduce Suspensions and Increase Student Achievement” (Horacio Sanchez)
Day 3: “School Safety Practices: Avoiding the Legal Pitfalls of Not Staying in Your Lane” (John More)
**Day 1 and Day 3 will be switched for the forum at Blue Ridge Community College**
