The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) in collaboration with the Knowledge Advisory Group is pleased to announce the Three-part webinar series "Understanding What's Working”. The three-part webinar series will provide an in-depth learning opportunity to assist participants with program evaluation planning, implementation, tracking and measuring outcomes. Participants will also learn how to use their program data to support future funding requests.

General Description:
In this two-part training, participants learn the basics of program evaluation planning and implementation, with an emphasis on why and how to measure outcomes. 

Topics:

• Understand why program evaluation is important and how measuring outcomes sets your program apart
• Overview of evaluation planning
• Considerations regarding the audience for program evaluation data
• Introduction to crafting evaluation frameworks, including a logic model template
• Options for the types of measures to use, including the pros and cons of each
• Using evaluation data to make program improvements

Participants will learn the relationship between program data and program sustainability, the characteristics of a strong evaluation culture, and how to use program evaluation data to support funding request and cultivate funder realtionships.

• Learning how to budget for program evaluation
• Discover how to integrate program evaluation into your organizational systems
• Using evaluation data to strengthen programs for greater impact
• Using evaluation data to communicate with funders and cultivate funding relationships

Learning Methods and Format

• One 90-minute session, followed by Q&A.

Training includes a Powerpoint slide deck and real work examples

Intended Audience
    Executive Directors, COOs, Program Directors/Mangers, School Administrators, Board members who are responsible for evaluating or overseeing new/existing program initatives. 

Presenter Bio

Trina Willard, Owner of Knowledge Advisory Group, has been providing program evaluation and measurement services to nonprofits and government agencies for over two decades. Previously, Trina served as Vice President of Transformation Systems, Inc. and Evaluation Chief at the Virginia Department of Criminal Justices Services, Criminal Justice Research Center. Trina received her training from Virginia Tech in Applied-Experimental Psychology. She is a licensed Consultant for the Nonprofit Standards for Excellence and a graduate of Leadership Metro Richmond Class of 2020.
