Local match funds are also listed. For this purpose, local match are only those funds required to match a particular grant award and not additional funds the locality has volunteered to supplement a grant award. The Funding Profiles list all grants awarded by DCJS that are active on the date the profile was produced (shown on the profile as “Report Date”) and the end date for each grant. The profiles will be updated twice a year on the DCJS website on or about February 1 and August 1.
Each assistance profile has grants grouped together along one of four service areas: Correctional Services, Juvenile Services, Law Enforcement/School-Campus Safety, and Victims Services.
Grants are listed by the locality that administers the grant. Grants awarded directly to the administrative locality are identified with the character ‘»’. Grants awarded to non-governmental agencies within the locality are identified with the character ‘●’.
Grants to towns are shown in the profile for the county in which the town is located. The name of the town receiving the grant precedes the grant title, for example, ‘Wytheville – Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grant Program’ and the amount of the grant appears in the assistance profile for Wythe County. Grants to universities or colleges are preceded with the school name (for example, ‘George Mason University – Violence Against Women (V-STOP)’) and the amount of the grant appears in the assistance profile for the locality that is geographically closest to the campus.
