Description

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to announce that it will host the three-day “Comprehensive Clery Act” training. In this newly designed training, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the challenges facing their campuses and begin formulating a Clery Act compliance plan. The new curriculum is designed to be valuable for all levels — both higher education professionals with advanced Clery knowledge AND for those in the early stages of forming a program or team on their campus.

The Clery Center has incorporated an adaptable Clery Act Workbook, with activities that can be completed during the training or with a Clery Compliance Team back on campus. The extensive activities in the workbook allow institutions to document and build upon current compliance efforts with a cooperative approach that helps participants develop personalized plans to keep their campus safe.

We encourage institutions to send collaborative teams to learn how different offices on campus can come together to better comply with the Clery Act. Please bring a copy of your Annual Security Report (ASR).
