Description

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), in conjunction with Safer Schools Together (SST), is pleased to announce the Current Online Behavioral Trends and Updates Virtual Training to help behavioral threat assessment team members and other school and college campus safety personnel better recognize and respond to today’s challenges from worrisome digital content contained on varied social media platforms.

The training will be offered virtually and each of the sessions will be updated based on current online behavioral trends. You are encouraged to register for all sessions.

Monthly Current Online Behavioral Trends and Updates complement SST’s Digital Threat Assessment® (DTA) training. These sessions enhance School Safety / Threat Assessment (SS/TA) teams’ understanding of the ever-changing digital landscape and include a live Q&A with SST Threat Analysts.

YOU WILL LEARN:

•   Updates and changes to all leading social media platforms

•   Key information for SS/TA teams

•   Case Scenarios: recent case files handled by SST Threat Analysts

•   Trends, language, and new ways that students communicate online

•   Risk enhancing behaviors – what to look out for

Who should attend?

This training is being offered to behavioral threat assessment team members at the school, division, and college campus level. This includes School Resource Officers, Law Enforcement Officers and School and Campus Security Officers. Other members of the school community such as school counselors, school psychologists, school social workers, and school nurses may also benefit from this training.

Partial In-Service Credit
