MAIN CONFERENCE REGISTRATION | VENDOR REGISTRATION

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), in partnership with the Department of State Police, the Department of Corrections, the Department of Juvenile Justice, and the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia, is pleased to announce the 2025 Conference on Violent Crime. This two-and-a-half-day event will be held in Blacksburg, Virginia, May 28-30, 2025. The conference will focus on topics directly related to trends and strategies used in efforts to reduce violent crime in the Commonwealth. This year’s conference will feature a combination of keynote and workshop presentations from local and national speakers on various topics, including examining violent crime incidents and trends, targeted violence, gang identification and suppression, ghost gun investigations, domestic violence, human trafficking, and additional topics to be announced soon. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn and collaborate with criminal justice professionals from Virginia and from around the country.

Who Should Attend?

This training is intended for Virginia law enforcement officers, campus and school security officers, military, prosecutors, and other non-sworn members of law enforcement agencies who are interested in specialized information about trends and solutions related to violent crime reduction. The conference has developed into a great educational and networking tool for law enforcement and criminal justice professionals in the Commonwealth.

Partial In-service Credit

Law enforcement officers can receive PIC hours for the conference training. Final hours will depend on individual daily and session attendance. 

Travel and Meals

Lunch will be served to registered participants each of the first 2 days of the conference. Participants are responsible for their transportation, parking, and other meal costs.

Lodging

Unless a lodging scholarship is requested and approved, participants are responsible for their lodging arrangements and expenses.

For the convenience of our participants, DCJS has reserved a block of rooms at the state rate of $122 a night plus applicable taxes and fees.

The cut-off date for the group rate is May 11, 2025. After this date, rooms and the conference rate are not guaranteed to be available.

Scholarships

There are a limited number of registration and lodging scholarships available. Pleaseclick here for the scholarship application if you are interested in this opportunity.  Applicants who are awarded scholarships will be notified via email, and reservations will be made on your behalf. Please do not contact the hotel directly if you have applied for a lodging scholarship.

Cost and Registration

Registration fee is $50.00 per participant if paid via credit card at the time of registration. A $20 processing fee will apply to payments not made by credit card at the time of registration. Payment must be received prior to conference attendance.

CANCELATION POLICY: No refunds will be given for cancelations made after May 13, 2025. Substitutions will be accepted. Cancellation Form can be found here.

Vendor Registration and Cost

A limited number of vendors with related products and services are invited to participate in the conference. The registration fee for VENDORS is $250 per vendor (for up to two (2) representatives) if paid via credit card at the time of registration. A $20 processing fee will apply to payments not made by credit card at the time of registration. Registration fee includes an open skirted table, electricity and Wi-Fi, and lunch.
