Description:

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to offer “Before, During, and After All Hazards Crisis Planning for Schools”.

Designed around the newly developed train-the-trainer model, this accelerated, hands-on course will demonstrate key elements of developing and testing crisis plans for division and school staff, introduce the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) and Standard Reunification Method (SRM), and engage participants in a functional tabletop exercise.

The primary goal of this training is to equip school and division leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively complete the DCJS School Crisis, Emergency Management, and Medical Emergency Response Plan (CMP) Template. The Train-the-Trainer (TTT) program, developed by DCJS, aims to establish a network of skilled trainers across Virginia and sustainability in school divisions.

Recognizing the diverse backgrounds and experiences of participants, the training and the TTT model are designed to accommodate varying levels of familiarity with the subject matter. Attendees will gain a unified understanding of current best practices and develop the tools needed to address questions that may arise when exploring new topics.
