Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services, in partnership with the Washington/Baltimore High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) and the Northeast Counterdrug Training Center (NCTC), is pleased to announce training on Detecting Misleading Behaviors in Narcotics Investigations on April 9, 2019 through April 11, 2019 at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, Downtown Campus Auditorium, in Richmond, Virginia. This three (3) day course will teach officers how to reliably recognize and understand verbal and non-verbal cues of deception. Officers will also learn how to identify deception in written statements. The instructor will also illustrate various verbal and non-verbal indicators of deception using videorecorder interviews of actual witnesses and suspects. Some of the learning objectives for this training include: Anatomical Indicators of Stress, Recognizing Verbal Indicators of Truthful Statements and Understanding Key Factors Analyzed in any Statements. Registration for this course will be limited to 90 participants.
This training is open to all sworn law enforcement officers.
Partial In-service Credit (PIC) for law enforcement officers will be available.
Registration begins at 7:30 AM
Training will be from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM each day
Transportation, lodging, and meals are the responsibility of the student.
There is no registration fee to attend this training.
