On November 27, 2017 The Bedford County Sheriff's Office was formally presented with the agency's 4th Award as a VLEPSC Accredited agency. Presenting the award was the City of Martinsville Sheriff Steve Draper who also serves as a VLEPSC Commissioner. Also in attendance for the presentation was the DCJS Accreditation Program Manager Derrick Mays. Congratulations to Sheriff Mike Brown, the members of the Bedford County Sheriff's Office and the residents of Bedford County.

During the regularly scheduled Town Council meeting on September 12, 2017 the Town of Grundy Police Department was formally presented with the agency's Initial Accreditation Certificate. Presenting the award was VLEPSC Chairman Chief Gary Roche of the the Pulaski Police Department and DCJS Accreditation Center Program Manager Derrick Mays. Congratulations to Chief Fletcher, the Grundy Police Department and the community.

VLEPSC Commissioner, Sheriff JJ Mclaughlin, New Kent County Sheriff's Office and Mr. Derrick Mays, Department of Criminal Justice Services VLEPSC Program Manager, formally presented the second Certification of Accreditation to the Reynolds Community College Police Department on August 17. Congratulations to Reynolds Police Chief Paul Ronca, Charles Bishop, Reynolds Accreditation Manager, the members of the Reynolds Police and Campus Security Departments and the Reynolds Community College.

On August 2, 2017 VLEPSC Awarded the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office it’s 4th award as an accredited law enforcement agency. Congratulations!

On July 25, 2017, the Fairfax County Sheriff's Office (3rd Award)  and the Fairfax County Police Department (6th Award) were presented with their Accreditation Certificates. Presenting the awards was VLEPSC Commissioner and  Warrenton Police Chief, Louis Battle. Congratulations to Sheriff Kincaid, Chief  Roessler and the men and women of both agencies on a job well done.

On Monday Jun12, at a regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the Galax Police department was formally presented with the agency's 5th award as an accredited police department. On May 23, 2017, The Hopewell Police Department was formally presented their 2nd VLEPSC Award as an accredited agency. The presentation occurred during the regularly scheduled City Council meeting. On March 7, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office was formally presented with the agency’s 5th Accreditation Award during the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting. Making the presentation was Sheriff JJ McLaughlin, New Kent County Sheriff’s Office and DCJS Accreditation Center Program Manager Derrick Mays. Congratulations to Sheriff Chapman, the Loudoun County Community and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

On January 5, 2017 the Winchester City Sheriff's Office came before VLEPSC to receive the agency's Initial Accreditation Award. Congratulations WCSO!!! Keep up the great work!! Welcome to the family!

On January 5, 2017 the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office came before VLEPSC to be re-accredited with the agency's 5th Award. Congratulations LCSO!!! Keep up the great work!!

On Saturday, November 19, 2016 the Charlottesville Police Department held its annual awards banquet and promotion ceremony. Invited guests included state and local officials. The department was blessed with a number of lifesaving awards and awards for community work. Of those presented to the CPD was their 5th Award for Accreditation. The agency came before the commission on October 18, and was reaccredited. Congratulations!!! On October 18, 2016, The Charlottesville Police Department was reaccredited by the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission. The meeting was held during the VALEAC Conference in Lynchburg VA. Congratulations CPD on a job well done.

On September 27, 2016 Sheriff Brian Roberts, Brunswick County Sheriff's Office was presented with a plaque  from the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission. Sheriff Roberts served as a VLEPSC Commissioner from 2009-2016. From 2012 - 2014 he served as Vice-Chairman and served as Chairman of VLEPSC from 2014-2016. We at VLEPSC and VALEAC thank you for your leadership and for your dedication to VLEPSC and the accreditation process!! Presenting the plaque was DCJS Accreditation Program Manager, Derrick Mays. 

On September 12, 2016, the Falls Church Police Department  was presented with their 3rd Reaccreditation Award. The award was presented at the monthly City Council meeting. On March 22, The Bristol Police Department was formally recognized and awarded their Initial Accreditation Certificate. DCJS VLEPSC Program Manager Derrick Mays presented the award during the City Council meeting. Several members of the Bristol Sheriff’s Office were also in attendance to support the PD. On March 14, the Tappahannock Police Department was formerly awarded their Initial Accreditation Certificate. Presenting the award was VLEPSC Commissioner, Sheriff C.O. Balderson, Westmoreland County Sheriff's Office and DCJS Virginia Center for Accreditation Program Manager, Derrick Mays. Congratulations TPD on a job well done.

On April 4, 2016 the Town of Chincoteague Police Department were formally presented their 1st Reaccreditation Award.
