Description
The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services is pleased to announce the Everyday Mentoring training from Mentor Virginia. This training is scheduled to enhance the skills and capacity of individuals who interact with young people regularly, empowering them to provide high-quality mentorship.
Training Objectives:
- Understanding the Role of a Mentor
- Effective Mentoring Strategies
- Building Trust and Communication
- Practical Toolkit for Mentors
This course is being instructed by MENTOR VA.
Who Should Attend?
Campus law enforcement officers, campus security officers, school resource officers, school security officers, municipal law enforcement, school administrators, and anyone who regularly works with students in a school or campus setting.
Partial In-service Credit
No PIC will be available for this course.
Travel, Lodging, and Meals
This is a virtual training.
Cost and Registration
There is no registration fee to attend this training. Pre-registration is required.
Please note that the DCJS registration system does not have the capacity to sort eligible from ineligible registrants. Therefore, anyone who registers will receive a confirmation. It is the responsibility of the DCJS assigned course director to review the roster and make a final determination on acceptance into the course. Registrants not accepted will be notified via the email address provided during registration.
