Description
Division and school leadership, teachers, staff, school counselors, SROs, and psychologists all play an essential role in the safety and well-being of students. However, they cannot work in silos. This session will explore how these vital roles align efforts to improve school climate, encourage student engagement, decrease truancy, and keep our youth safe during the school day. Useable strategies in the multi-tiered systems of support will be discussed.
Intended Audience
This training is intended for school mental health personnel, K-12 educators, school security personnel, school administration, student conduct professionals, and other interested school or community personnel.
Partial In-service Credit
Partial In-service Credit (PIC) for law enforcement is not provided. Credit for School Security officers will be offered.
Cost
There is no fee to attend this training.
Registration
Pre-registration is required.
Please note that the DCJS registration system does not have the capacity to sort eligible from ineligible registrants. Therefore, anyone who registers will receive a confirmation. It is the responsibility of the DCJS assigned course director to review the roster and make a final determination on acceptance into the course. Registrants not accepted will be notified via the email address provided during registration.
