Family Assistance Center (FAC) Regional Workshop

Family Assistance Center (FAC) Regional Workshop
Buena Vista, VA
December 10, 2025
8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), in partnership with the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the Family Assistance Center (FAC) Regional Workshop. The workshop will be both a learning and networking opportunity for those agencies in the regional area who are called upon to respond in the aftermath of a mass casualty incident (MCI) and/or the establishment of a Family Assistance Center (FAC). Your agency will have the opportunity to identify and discuss resource availability and gaps with agencies that you would be working with following a real-world MCI. The trainers have invited representatives from the Virginia State Police, local law enforcement, victim advocacy agencies, Commonwealth's Attorneys' offices, Community Services Boards, the Red Cross, the Medical Reserve Corps, emergency management, social services, City Attorney’s offices, and faith-based leaders from your region to take part in this learning and engagement opportunity.

Who Should Attend?
K-12 Administrators, School Safety Officers, Emergency Managers, Law Enforcement, Fire & EMS, Community Services Board Staff, Health Department Staff, Victim Witness Advocates, and any other providers who interact with survivors of traumatic incidents.
