Description:

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to announce the 2026 School Division Behavioral Threat Assessment Virtual Roundtable series schedule. These sessions are open to all School and Division Threat Assessment Directors, Managers, and team members across the Commonwealth. This virtual roundtable will provide an overview of recent legislative changes, specific areas of interest or concern, and new/updated resources and training opportunities.

This program is intended to create a collaborative environment for discussing relevant issues in real-time with others—to share tips, tools, and information. DCJS staff will be on hand to moderate and guide the agenda at each session. Topics will include a brief overview of legislative changes impacting Behavioral Threat Assessment and other agenda items relevant to K-12 behavioral threat assessment leaders.

Who Should Attend:

While this event is primarily for Behavioral Threat Assessment Directors/Managers, other division-level safety staff, school-level team leaders, administrators, and threat assessment team members are also encouraged to attend.

Partial In-Service Credit:

Partial In-Service Credit (PIC) for law enforcement officers will not be available.

Time and Details:

Roundtable discussion begins at 10:00 am and ends at 11:00 pm.

Cost and Registration:

There is no registration fee to attend this training. Pre-registration is required.

Please note that the DCJS registration system does not have the capacity to sort eligible from ineligible registrants. Therefore, anyone who registers will receive a confirmation.
