Theme: Leading the Way to Bring the School Safety Vision into Focus

Calling all creative K-12 students in Virginia—we want YOUR artwork to help promote school safety across the Commonwealth!

What’s the challenge?
Design a sticker that reflects the 2026 theme, focusing on a school safety lens. Themes can include kindness, anti-bullying, building trust, emergency readiness, or feeling safe. Your design should be positive, inspiring, and easy to reproduce as a sticker.

Contest Details

  • Who can enter? Any Virginia student in grades K–12. Students must apply in partnership with a school or first responder agency.
  • Deadline: All entries must be received by May 15, 2026.
  • Format: Submit your original artwork in a digital format (JPEG or PNG preferred) or a high-quality scan of your hand-drawn design.
  • Size: Winning designs will be printed on 3-inch circle or square stickers.
  • Theme: Leading the Way to Bring the School Safety Vision into Focus, be creative and show what safety means to you!
  • Originality: Artwork must be your own creation.

Prizes and Recognition

  • Winners will be announced at the July 2026 Virginia School Safety Training Forum.
  • Winning designs will be printed on official stickers and may be utilized in DCJS materials.
  • Monetary prizes, up to $1,000, will be awarded to the sponsoring school or first responder agency for top entries in each grade category: Elementary, Middle, and High School.
