*Provisions regulating the decertification procedures related to the decertification of Law Enforcement & Jail Officers in the Commonwealth of Virginia (15.2-1707 & 15.2-1708 of the Code of Virginia) have been revised due to the passage of SB88(2024). Updates became effective on July 1, 2024.

APPEAL HEARINGS:
Pursuant to § 15.2-1708 of the Code of Virginia, requests for Informal Fact-Finding Conference reviews, pursuant to § 2.2-4019, will be scheduled based upon the availability of hearing officers retained from the Supreme Court of Virginia. Scheduling information will be provided directly to appellants and former employing agencies as soon as practical.
Formal appeal hearing dates are tentatively prescheduled to allow the Executive Committee of the Criminal Justice Services Board to be available to conduct hearings. Appellants and former employing agencies will be notified directly once scheduled, as soon as practical.
2026 FORMAL APPEAL HEARING DATES:
- January 15-16, 2026
- April 16-17, 2026
- July 16-17, 2026
- October 15-16, 2026
*Please note that the specified dates may be subject to change based upon the availability of the Executive Committee of the Criminal Justice Services Board to conduct these hearings. Changes will be updated on this webpage, Virginia Regulatory Town Hall, and via direct notifications to the appellant and other relevant participants, as soon as determined.
