School Safety Inspection Checklist and Certification
Changes to the Code of Virginia § 22.1-279.8 enacted by the 2013 General Assembly require schools to perform a safety inspection walkthrough using a checklist provided by the Virginia Center for School and Campus Safety.
In 2026, the checklist was updated, and a mobile app version is now available.
