Description:
The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services is pleased to offer the "Financial Strength for First Responders" webinar.
Too often, Virginia’s first responders retire without a solid financial plan, leading to uncertainty and unnecessary stress. This workshop is designed to equip first responders with the tools and knowledge needed to achieve financial independence through three key areas:
Key Areas Covered:
- Building Financial Strength – Understand your relationship with money, identify financial habits, and learn the key principles for achieving long-term financial stability.
- Budgeting and Credit Management – Create a personalized financial plan, develop a realistic budget, and explore strategies to manage and improve credit.
- Income and Investment Strategies – Learn how to build active and passive income streams, evaluate investment opportunities, and prepare for financial security in retirement.
Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, participants will gain practical skills to take control of their financial future.
Who should attend?
This training is open to all first responder groups, including, but not limited to, law enforcement, fire/EMS, EMTs, dispatchers, and corrections. Additionally, retired first responders, civilian peer support, and mental health clinicians who are culturally competent in first responder wellness are encouraged to attend.
