The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to announce a 3-day “General Investigations” training.

Course Description:

This class is designed to serve as an introduction to criminal investigations as well as a refresher to veteran investigators. This course will cover topics such as techniques and procedures, establishing timelines, basic evidence collection, crime scene management, canvasing, legal subjects, warrants and affidavits, case file preparation, courtroom testimony, and an end of course scenario based practical application exercise.

Who Should Attend:

This training is available to sworn law enforcement officers in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Partial In-service Credit:

Partial In-service Credit (PIC) for Virginia law enforcement officers will be available.

Cost:

There is no fee to attend this training.

Travel, Lodging, and Meals:

Transportation, lodging and meals are the responsibility of the participant.

Training Time & Details:

Sign in begins at 7:45 a.m.

Training begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 4:30 p.m.
