Description:
The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), in partnership with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), is pleased to announce a virtual training, “Internet Safety: Resources for Teaching Our Youth.” This course will cover resources available to the public that can aid in educating our youth on the importance of internet safety, as well as warning signs of bullying, cyberstalking, and sextortion.
Who should attend:
This training is open to K-12 and IHE staff, school and campus security officers, and law enforcement.
Partial In-service Credit:
Law Enforcement PIC is not offered for this virtual training.
Certificate of Completion:
Participants who attend the entire training will receive one credit hour that can be applied to CSO and SSO recertification.
Cost and Registration:
There is no fee associated with this training. Pre-registration is required.
Please note that the DCJS registration system does not have the capacity to sort eligible from ineligible registrants. Therefore, anyone who registers will receive a confirmation. It is the responsibility of the DCJS assigned course director to review the roster and make a final determination on acceptance into the course. Registrants not accepted will be notified via the email address provided during registration.
