Description:
The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to announce the K-12 School Safety Quarterly Network Series.
The virtual sessions will offer an overview of recent legislative changes, highlight key areas of interest or concern, and share new or updated resources and training opportunities.
This program aims to foster a collaborative environment to discuss relevant issues in real-time with others in the K-12 school safety field - new and experienced - to share tips, tools, and information. DCJS staff will be on hand to moderate and guide the agenda at each session, which will include a brief overview of legislative changes and other agenda items as requested by stakeholders.
Who Should Attend:
This virtual event is open to division-level safety staff, school administrators, behavioral threat assessment directors/managers, threat assessment team members, emergency managers, crisis team members, and first responders.
Partial In-Service Credit:
Partial In-Service Credit (PIC) for law enforcement officers will not be available.
Training Time and Details:
September 23, 2026, and December 9, 2026.
Sessions begin at 10:00 am and end at 11:00 am.
Cost and Registration:
There is no registration fee to attend this training. Pre-registration is required.

Please note that the DCJS registration system does not have the capacity to sort eligible from ineligible registrants. Therefore, anyone who registers will receive a confirmation. It is the responsibility of the DCJS-assigned course coordinator to review the roster and make a final determination on acceptance into the course. Denied registrants will be notified via the email address provided during registration.
