The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services in partnership with The Humane Society of the United States is pleased to announce this virtual training titled, “Large Scale Animal Neglect Investigations: Tips for VA Officers”.
This webinar will review the most common types of large-scale cases and tips for successful investigations. We will review unique considerations including the need to plan ahead, evidence collection, handling, transport and ongoing care.
Trainer- Shalimar Oliver is the Animal Crimes Manager for the Humane Society of the United States. She oversees puppy mill investigations and egregious cruelty cases including large-scale neglect and animal fighting. Shalimar is also a disaster responder and assists with rescues where animals have been impacted by hurricanes, floods and other natural events. Shalimar was born and raised in Sydney, Australia, where she worked at the Sydney RSPCA and an Australian wildlife park before becoming a senior Animal Control Officer for the County of San Diego.
