Legal Updates for School Security Officers (SSOs) - 2022

The Department of Criminal Justice Services is pleased to announce a new webinar: 2022 Legal Updates for SSOs. This one-hour webinar is designed to meet the in-service legal topics requirements for School Security Officer recertification. Attendees will receive one-hour of SSO PIC credit which will satisfy the requirement for legal update training. This is a new webinar and will include a refresher of existing legislation as well as updates on new legislation from the 2022 General Assembly legislative session.

Topics include:

1. New legislation impacting school safety in Virginia - changes from the 2022 legislative session

2. Review of 6VAC20-240. Regulations Relating to School Security Officers

3. Review of school safety and security related legislative mandates

There is no fee to attend this webinar. Pre-registration is required. The webinar will be hosted via Zoom.
