The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to announce the “Life Beyond the Badge: Work-Life Balance for First Responders” webinar, presented by NOTA Fitness.

Description:

The demanding nature of a first responder’s career often blurs the lines between work and personal life. This webinar is designed to help law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, corrections officers, and dispatchers develop practical strategies for managing stress, setting boundaries, and prioritizing well-being.

Participants will explore the unique challenges first responders face, including shift work, emotional exhaustion, and the pressure of constant readiness. Through interactive discussions and real-world scenarios, participants will learn techniques for stress reduction, time management, and improving relationships with family and friends.

This course also emphasizes the importance of self-care, mindfulness, and building a support network both inside and outside the profession. By the end of this webinar, attendees will gain actionable tools to create a sustainable work-life balance, enhance overall wellness, and maintain a fulfilling life beyond the badge.

Who should attend:

This webinar is open to all first responder groups, including, but not limited to, law enforcement, fire/EMS, EMTs, dispatchers, and corrections. Additionally, retired first responders, civilian peer support, and mental health clinicians who are culturally competent in first responder wellness are encouraged to attend.

Partial In-service Credit:

Partial In-service Credit (PIC) for Virginia law enforcement officers is NOT available for this webinar; however, a certificate of attendance will be provided upon completion.

Cost and Registration:

There is no cost to attend this training; however, pre-registration is required.
