The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services in collaboration with Washington/Baltimore High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) is pleased to announce the “New Trends of Mexican Fentanyl” training to be held in Henrico, VA.
The impact of fentanyl on public health and safety over the past five years has been profound with little respite in sight. As law enforcement continues to battle street sales of the potent drug Mexican drug trafficking organizations continue to modify their production, smuggling, and trafficking efforts. This course will cover the Chinese-Mexico nexus in terms of fentanyl production and links to criminal organizations in the United States; identification of key fentanyl producing DTOs and how they smuggle the drug from the border to your jurisdiction; emerging fentanyl variants; impact of fentanyl on current crime waves; challenges of fentanyl overdoses; ISO- the new generation of synthetic opioids; and investigation/seizure case studies.

This training is open to sworn law enforcement officers.
Partial In-service Credit
Partial In-service Credit (PIC) for Virginia law enforcement officers is PENDING.
Cost
There is no cost to attend this training, however pre-registration is required.

Participants are responsible for their transportation and lodging arrangements and expenses.
