The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the “Sexual Exploitation Treatment and Training Services (SETTS) for Case Managers”. This two-day training will offer actionable strategies to enhance services for survivors within community-based advocacy programs and maintain the sustainability of professional self-care while working with high-risk populations. This training will explore: how to identify staff needs and build capacity; intake process (identification); understanding and addressing complex trauma; case management strategies and interventions; and trafficking-specific multidisciplinary team approaches. A focus on the collaborative process is included to promote quality of care and effective outcomes that enhance the physical, emotional, psychological, and financial health of survivors.

Who Should Attend?
This course is intended for professionals who work directly with sexually exploited clients. DCJS reserves the right to prioritize agencies based on need.
There is also a SETTS session for licensed mental health professionals being provided on May 1-2, 2023 and two 5-day SETTS on August 21-25, 2023 and October 16-20, 2023. Please refer to both course announcements to determine which course fits your needs. If you have not received training on human trafficking, please consider the 5-day course.
Registration and Cost: This training is free. Participants must register in advance for the training. This course is limited to 30 participants per session.
Time: The training runs from 9:00am-4:00pm each day with a break for lunch. The room will be open at 8:30am daily.
Travel, Lodging, and Meals
Participants are responsible for their own transportation, lodging, and meals. DCJS will provide participants with information for a group hotel rate prior to the training session.
