Trauma-Informed and Victim-Centered Care: Practices, Policies, and Procedures

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the training, Trauma-Informed and Victim-Centered Care: Practices, Policies, and Procedures. This training will discuss and define what it means to be trauma-informed and victim-centered and how these practices are important to the healing and recovery of survivors of traumatic events.
Learning Objectives:
- Obtain knowledge of trauma-informed and victim-centered care.
- Develop a better understanding of how trauma impacts survivors, staff, and your agency.
- Discuss ways to incorporate these practices into your agency’s policies and procedures to promote victim recovery.
- Practice methods that will help make these practices a natural response in everyday actions/interactions.
Who Should Attend?
K-12 Administrators, School Safety Officers, Emergency Managers, Law Enforcement, Fire & EMS, Community Services Board Staff, Health Department Staff, Victim Witness Advocates, and any other providers who interact with survivors of traumatic incidents.
