Law Enforcement and Public Safety Training

The DCJS Virginia Center for School and Campus Safety (VCSCS) also serves as the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Training Section of the agency, supporting both law enforcement agencies and the general public through innovative trainings, grants, and cutting-edge resources. VCSCS offers various topical trainings, such as Civilian Response and Casualty Care, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills, Basic Crime Prevention, Gang Awareness and Investigations Training, and Alzheimer's and Autism Awareness for First Responders, among others. We also house the Office of First Responder Wellness, which aims to save lives and improve the overall wellness of Virginia’s first responders through primary prevention, early intervention, response, and recovery initiatives.
